Benedicte Aubert Ringnes

Benedicte Aubert Ringnes (b. 1981) has a background in the film industry, where she worked as a director and producer on international and award-winning feature films, commercials, and music videos. During her time at film school, she began experimenting with photography and Photoshop to visualize ideas and develop storyboards for production design. Over time, these storyboards became increasingly detailed, sparking a lasting interest in Photoshop. This led her to explore design and art further, which she pursued alongside her master's degree in photography and filmmaking.

After a decade in the film industry, Benedicte took the leap and dedicated herself fully to art. Since starting full-time in 2016, she has held several solo exhibitions, participated in over 40 group exhibitions, and sold more than 400 artworks in Norway, Switzerland, USA, England, France, Monaco, Marbella, among others.

Benedicte has explored photography, oil painting, and doodling. Working digitally allows her to combine these techniques, culminating in a digital master file. This process typically begins with painting and photography before the work is finalized digitally (DGA).

Benedicte describes it as follows: "I found Photoshop to be a liberating solution for bringing everything together harmoniously." The mixed media aspect comes from the finishing process. Each artwork is completed on solid frames, fully coated with a thick, high-gloss varnish containing a UV filter, sealing the artwork and frame as a single unit. Most works are limited to between six and eight editions, regardless of size.
