Johanne Birkeland, also known as Jossolini, is a Norwegian ceramist and artist with workshops in Hvasser, Færder municipality, and at Kroloftet in Oslo. She holds a journeyman’s certificate in ceramics, an academic background, and experience from private industry—a combination that shapes her professional and exploratory approach to her craft.
All production takes place in her own workshops, where she personally handles the design, shaping, and firing of each individual object. She uses traditional handicraft techniques such as throwing, pinching, and coiling, and works with both porcelain and stoneware.
