Atle Østrem is a Norwegian artist from Stavanger, living and working in Oslo. His artistic universe is at the intersection of the beautiful and the ugly, the playful and the serious – a place he himself describes as "somewhere in between".
Østrem is known for his iconic characters: figures that are both childlike and dark, naive and thought-provoking. They inhabit an inner world that mirrors the fleeting moments and emotions of everyday life, and which, when brought to light, show us what it means to be human.
