Johanne Birkeland

Johanne Birkeland, also known as Jossolini, is a Norwegian ceramist and artist with workshops in Hvasser, Færder municipality, and at Kroloftet in Oslo. She holds a journeyman’s certificate in ceramics, has an academic background, and experience from the private sector – a combination that shapes her professional and exploratory approach to the craft.

All production takes place in her own workshops, where she is responsible for the design, shaping, and firing of each individual object. She uses traditional craftsmanship techniques such as throwing, pinching, and coiling, and works with both porcelain and stoneware.
