"Shadows and bloom" invites us to see the beautiful and the inevitable side by side. The floral motifs embody vitality, while the inscription speaks of death. Between these extremes, a quiet poetry emerges, encompassing everything else life has to offer. The gaze and the decorations convey experiences and emotions from an entire lifetime. Hope and joy. Fear and pain. Knowledge and acceptance that life is life, death is death, and we must participate in both. Without the certainty of death – would we perhaps not appreciate life enough? Idis is an artist from Bergen who has turned her passion for painting and drawing into a full-time career. She creates emotive and daring art that balances between realism and abstraction. Inspired by street art and pop art, she explores human expressions through portraits and recurring motifs – often monkeys and faces – where gazes, colors, and patterns convey stories and moods.

Through her art, Idis examines themes such as identity, society, and human nature, with a unique combination of humor and seriousness. She wants her images to evoke reflection, curiosity, and emotions in the viewer.
