About the painting:
Ranten (1419 m.a.s.l.) is one of the peaks on Norefjell and Høgevarde, and a mountain with a very special place in Norwegian art history. It was this very peak that served as a model for Th. Kittelsen's iconic depiction of Askeladden seeing Soria Moria in the distance.

Torkild Iversen

Torkild Iversen (born 1973) is a Norwegian artist with a background as a graphic designer and art director. After many years of pursuing art alongside his work, he chose five years ago to focus entirely on his artistic practice. Today, he works from his studio on Jeløya outside Moss, where he paints canvases that explore the atmosphere, mysticism, and fairy-tale-like quality of the Norwegian mountains.
