Syver Lauritzsen

Syver Lauritzsen (1990) is a Norwegian multidisciplinary artist and designer, with a degree from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design.

In his work, Syver uses everything from oil painting to coding artificial intelligence to create his artworks. Syver believes in honesty in the connection between material and motif: "An oil painting is best when it looks like an oil painting, AI-generated images are best when they look like AI images, complete with imperfections." He further describes working with oil paint as follows: "I love the unpredictability and physicality of oil. There is a unique complexity and patina that builds up when working in layers over time with oil."
