Eric Ness Christiansen

Over the past twenty years, Eric Ness Christiansen has established himself as one of the biggest street art artists we have in this country. He is one of the major initiators and promoters of changing the view of street art as an art form in Norway. In the early 2000s, he was seen as a rebel, on the edge of the law, with spray cans and paint rollers where walls were tagged, all around Drammen. Ness Christiansen wanted to change the view of graffiti as an art form. In 2014, Drammen municipality changed its zero tolerance against graffiti. Project UGANG was initiated with Eric as the initiator, where 5000m2 of wall was to be decorated by 50 artists annually. Eric was no longer considered a rebel, but a resource who lifted up boring and sad city walls and showcased local identity and innovative thinking. In 2017, he received great recognition by being awarded the Bylivsprisen in Drammen. Countless walls around Norway have been covered with colorful street art signed Eric. In recent years, he has also become a sought-after curator for large graffiti projects all over the country. Eric draws his knowledge and passion for street art down from the wall and onto the canvas.
